Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has given Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy an ‘F’ grade, when asked to grade the governor on WFSB-TV 3’s Face the State on Sunday. Boughton claimed the governor’s biggest failure was allowing “the business climate to deteriorate in the state,” during his six years in office.
Boughton, a Republican, has formed an exploratory committee to run for governor. He says he is a problem solver and can pull Connecticut out of its “death spiral.” He notes his city’s low unemployment rate and recent designation as the best place to start a business in Connecticut, and reasons he could make a good governor.
This is Boughton’s third attempt at coming the state’s chief executive.
