Samson bill would eliminate state income tax for Social Security recipients

Rob SamsonState Rep. Rob Samson, R-Wolcott, has pre-filed legislation that would eliminate the state income tax for Connecticut residents who are receiving Social Security.

It appears the legislation has support from both sides of the aisle.  Some House Democrats made a similar recommendation, during the recent campaign.  The sticking point, of course, is the Connecticut’s strapped budget.  The program would cost the budget $47 million in revenue.
