Do Dems fear Boughton? Diaco dismissal sparks Twitter war between mayor and Democrats

Mark BoughtonThe dismissal of UConn football coach Bob Diaco touched off a Twitter war between Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton and a state Democratic Party operative on Tuesday.  The mayor and possible Republican Party gubernatorial candidate sent out a tweet lamenting Diaco’s $3.4 million contract buyout and that led to a critical tweet from Michael Mandell, the executive director of the Connecticut Democratic party.

One wonders if the Democratic Party internal surveys show Boughton polling strong.  It’s 22 months and change before the election and any television appearance or tweet by Boughton usually launches a website or Twitter attack from the state Democratic Party.
