The University of Connecticut is going to great lengths to explain that taxpayers are not on the hook for the $3.4 million buyout of fired football coach Bob Diaco’s contract. In the end, however, the explanations are rather foggy, in a Hartford Courant piece.
When the Courant asked associate athletic director Kyle Muncy if the money generated by the athletic department could be itemized from student and taxpayers’ revenue for Diaco’s buyout he responded:
“I don’t know how to answer that question you know, in a way that would satisfy anybody. I guess there really wouldn’t be a way to satisfy folks, I don’t think, in that regard.”
