There may be a reason tweets from the Connecticut Democratic Party have made Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton one of their favorite targets. It appears the former Republican party gubernatorial candidate is serious about running again. Boughton, who has formed an exploratory committee, is ramping up fundraising efforts. He has just added a fifth fundraiser and operates a website Connecticut Comeback.
His committee recently sent out an email fundraising plea, following a Hartford Courant story indicating that Hartford-based insurer Aetna was in talks to relocate to Boston.
Boughton’s latest fundraiser is on Groundhog’s Day.
