Actress Mary Tyler Moore was a fan of the sports talk radio show ‘Mike and the Mad Dog,’ featuring Mike Francesa and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo. The actress, who lived in Greenwich, CT died last month. Francesa and Russo, who worked together for more than 20 years on WFAN radio in New York City, teamed up on February 2nd, while both were broadcasting their shows from the Super Bowl in Houston, TX. Francesa remains on WFAN – he will leave the station on Dec. 15, when his contract expires – while Russo now has his own show on Sirius Satelite radio.
The two talked about old times, recalling when Moore approached them at a charity dinner to tell the two that she was an avid listener of the program.
Moore, who died at the age of 80, was buried in Fairfield, CT last month.
