Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst, who it seems is harboring hopes at another run for statewide office, is back with another tweet focusing on Connecticut state policy. This time it’s the prescription drug plan for state employees that has his attention and it comes with the hashtag #drainctswamp.
You may recall, before Christmas, Herbst launched a Twitter war with Connecticut Democrats, when he questioned the use of state lawmakers’ expense accounts for pension calculation. The man, who almost upended incumbent Denise Nappier for state treasurer in 2014 is now back, this time taking aim at the taxpayer-funded health insurance policy for state employees, that includes prescription drugs.
In a Jan. 2 tweet, Herbst writes:
Wonder why state is broke? Just had zero co-pay on scripts under state health plan. Time for another FOI. #drainctswamp
And you though 2016 was an interesting year.
